The Paleo diet is not exactly a diet. It is a lifestyle change to improve your health and lose weight if needed. The diet is suppose to mimic the diet of our ancestors more than 10,000 years ago during the paleolithic era. About 10,000 years ago we transferred into the neolithic era, the era we are still in, and our diet changed rapidly while our bodies did not. Since the paleolithic era lasted way longer than the neolithic era has lasted our bodies are still adapted to eating the way we did 10,000+ years ago. The diet is compromised of lots of fresh, in season if possible, veggies, good meat, fruit, and nuts. There are things that are just sorta paleo out there to make cooking easier, such as coconut flour, tapioca flour, honey, molasses, high quality cacao powder, ect. Although they can be paleo, those items should be eaten in moderation. Wheat, corn, oats, and any other grains are definitely not included in this diet. Vegetables can contain 10 times more fiber than the most fibrous vegetable and loads of nutrients not supplied by grains, therefore there is no problem with fiber intake.
